About myself and this site:

My name is Douglas Boze, just your average all American, red blooded, patriotic hunter who loves to write about my adventures and share them with anyone who will listen. I live in the beautiful Skagit Valley of Washington State, shadowed by the volcano of Mount Baker. I am the author of two books thus far, “No Bait Just Bears: Black Bear Hunting Tactics” and “The Ultimate Guide To Black Bear Hunting”, along with several outdoor articles published in magazines such as Bear Hunting Magazine, NW Sportsmen and so on.

I have questioned myself as to why I wanted to start this page. The answer I came up with may surprise you. I have not created this site for fame or fortune (although I am not against opportunities). I have created this site to help promote the outdoor, hunting and fishing (and yes, even trapping) lifestyle that I live.

So many people today in our society have lost touch with nature and themselves. Experiencing hunting, fishing and trapping reconnects you to the nature flow of things. You were designed to fend for yourself, to hunt, to fish, to learn about animals and their habits. You were not designed to sit in a cubicle, to use escalators, to avoid mountain peaks and calm rivers, to get your food wrapped in plastic from a factory that you could not find on a map.

You and I were both designed to be an integral part of nature, and this, my friends, is what I am all “about”. Please come and join me for the adventure. Check in often to read my latest blogs, find out about my latest hunting adventure, or perhaps see some entertaining wildlife video or photographs that I wanted to share with you. I am looking forward to sharing these ideas and experiences with you, as well as promoting the hunting, fishing an trapping lifestyle! Enjoy!
